Everything The Author Knows

Movie Clapboard for Decorations
Out of all my writing struggles, the biggest would have to be remembering the audience does not know everything I know. It’s something I’m working hard on, but that also produces issues when I leave out information that of course I know, but the reader doesn’t, and without it, the story is very confusing.

Remember how Friday(actually, Saturday) I talked about how since I couldn’t explain Treya’s story enough in The Dragon Within, I’m writing a short story to explain the parts of her life that weren’t seen? Well, I’ve been thinking about all the scenes that I wished to put in The Dragon Within, but just couldn’t make it because of length and space reasons(affectionately termed my ‘deleted scenes’), and considered doing something to be able to share them with you.

My thought was maybe just posting one ‘deleted scene’ every so often for readers to see and comment on, but I had another idea as well, which could be really fun. 🙂 It would also involve reader input too, a chance for you to voice any questions about The Dragon Within or a question you have for a character, and have it answered. Sound fun?

It’s still just in the works, but the more I think about it, the more interesting it seems. Basically, this would be a short story possibly narrated as a new character (spoilers 😉 asking questions of Kaena and the others about certain parts of the story that may not have been discussed or seen.

And this is where you come in. 🙂 If you’ve read The Dragon Within and have a question about a scene that wasn’t shown or just mentioned, something about a character’s past that didn’t come up (but remember Treya’s story is all going to be told), or just a fun to even silly question for one of the characters you’d like answered, send me an email (please don’t comment the question on this post so those who haven’t read the book don’t have it spoiled for them) or contact me on any of my social media outlets with your question. I’m really looking forward to this! 🙂

When she’s not spinning the tales in her head into stories, she can be found working undercover at a grocery store or gathering intel for her next stories, and food for the dragons. Dragons need pizza too, you know?
